Shutdown is a view of Britain's capital city through the eye of a pandemic. A document of London's transformation during a period where global society is changing and adapting due to the most devastating social, political, and economic catastrophes in modern history. Throughout the ongoing nationwide government-enforced Covid-19 shutdowns, and easing of restrictions, my personal experiences have guided this work. By focussing on quieter moments and objects within London's communal spaces and interactions with members of his community, I have sought to explore the social and psychological adjustments my local area and broader London has undergone. The bulk of my images have been shot in Hackney, where I have lived for three years. This ongoing work has been circulated via social media since March 2020 and integral to the images' force.
